Carol and Mike's extensive home renovations took place over winter and spring. Their builder, Gordon Craig, looked after the gutting and rebuilding of the interior, new flooring and painting. When he recommended Charles Lantz Cabinetry, Carol was more than pleased to give Charles a call. "It was a pleasure working with Charles," she says. "All his people are professionals - craftsmen."
Carol and Charles worked on the design mostly by e-mail. "I'd draw picture and send them to him. I also got pictures from magazines - it was a lot of fun."
"We'd ripped out the walls and had a quirky design. Charles made it possible. He transformed my ideas into reality."
The kitchen features a hidden refrigerator, pull-out pantry and plenty of storage - despite the lack of upper cabinets.

Charles Lantz crew
The CLC builders for this latest project:Roy Parsons - kitchen perimeter; Dana Tanner - kitchen island; Kyle Veinot - bar unit; Trevor Creaser - vanity work; Jeff Crouse - spraying and finishing.
"Contractor Gordon Craig of Lunenburg (902-634-3595) made this project move along very well. It was a pleasure working with him and his crew. The granite tops were supplied by Nova Tile and Marble of Dartmouth. The homeowner and Karen Murphy worked very closely with organizing this aspect of the project. Bernd's Ceramic Tile did the entire tile setting right from the marble tile in the washrooms and to the tile at the stove."
"These cabinets are finished with a very light glaze and the island was distressed to the owners' specifications. A tip for people wishing to have glaze applied to their cabinetry - don't overdo it - you may tire of dark glazes quickly.
Charles Lantz comments
"I would like to thank Carol and Mike for allowing CLC to construct this great job. Carol has great insight and abilities in design and color choices."
